Steven Pelland

Few musicians would include in their list of influences the great literary artists. Steven Pelland is a 21st Century Renaissance Man. From the ballads to the instrumentals on his great record “These Days” the sound is as current as it is clearly rooted in a time of yore.

Pelland’s musical journey began at the early age of seven by studying accordion and organ. His father, a professional guitarist and vocalist, influenced and encouraged Steven to study electric bass and voice. During his teens, he studied voice with the great bass baritone, Ron Nadeau. At nineteen, Steven graduated from the Modern School of Music, and freelanced as a bassist in Boston’s well established jazz scene.

Presently living in the vibrant musical town of Asheville, NC Pelland’s roots are deeply entrenched in New England, growing in up the industrial city of Fall River and later living in Concord, MA. The presence of all influences are present in his beautiful music.
Steven has recently performed at both the New Bedford Folk Festival and The Huntington Folk Festival.
